Capt. Benedict Obasi

Owner & Lead Instructor · 13+ Years Flying

I started CrossAirOcean because I got tired of watching flight schools treat students like billing codes.

Flying isn't a mystery. It's a skill. With the right instructor, anyone who can drive a car can learn to fly — and our job is to teach you well, treat you right, and get you in the air for less than the school across the field.

That's the whole pitch.

Au revoir, adios, a dan on dòt solèy, goodbye.

Our Story

Why We Built This School.

Flying isn't a mystery. It's a skill — and most flight schools forget that. They cycle students through like billing codes, hand them off to hour-building CFIs, and wonder why so few finish.

We do it differently. Small school. Senior instructors. Real attention. From your first Intro Flight to your multi-engine rating, you work with people who chose to be here.

Based at Zephyrhills Municipal Airport — Florida sunshine, year-round flying weather, and a 4,800-foot runway that doesn't fight you on landing.

“Let's make your aviation dreams take off — together.”

Why CrossAirOcean

Train Smart, Fly Confident

Sim First, Sky Second

Many maneuvers are practiced in our AATD before you fly them. You arrive at each lesson already familiar with the maneuver — you just execute it in the air.

Save Money. Train More.

AATD time runs $80/hr versus $115+/hr in the air. Student pilots get 2 free sim hours every week.

Understand the Why

Anyone can teach you to push the rudder. We teach you why. Understand the physics, stop memorizing, and start flying.
